Strike to continue at Hazelton coal mines

Other Mines Sink in Joplin District

Two more large mines adjoining yesterday's cave in Joplin Missouri caved in this morning. Others are threatened and several abandoned. The ruined mines, all producers, had paid about half a million dollars in dividends.

Prosperous Wisconsin family perishes in home fire

Three Prosperous Farm families members, William Wickersham his brother Albert and sister Julia, were found burned to death in the ruins of their Elkhorn Wisconsin home this morning. The blaze destroyed their residence and the fate of any other occupants remains unknown. Local authorities are investigating the cause of the fire.

Tram derailment in Chatham injures eighty. one dead

In Chatham England on October 3 a tram car broke loose on a steep incline and derailed after striking a curve. One person was killed and about eighty injured, many seriously, as the crew struggled to control the runaway vehicle.

The oldest couple to wed in Uma tilla County in years, Louis M. Bly and Mare Scott, joined life Wednesday evening at the bride’s home in this city. Rev. J. T. Hoskins officiated. The groom is 83 and the bride 72.

Three Cult Members Indicted for Manslaughter in Typhoid Death

In White Plains in November 40, John Quimby his wife and John Lathrop were indicted for manslaughter in the second degree over a young girl’s death from typhoid fever. Mary Baker Eddy, founder of the Christian Scientists, is expected to attend the trial to defend them.
