Four robbers blasted a Prairie City bank, fleeing with about 34 000 at 4 o clock. They fired shots to terrify bystanders, drawing a large crowd to the scene as officers pursued the suspects. Local officials described the event as a bold, staged crime.
J B Gilbert a well known Multnomah area farmer was killed by a boar Sunday night while trying to separate two fighting hogs. The animal gored him through the leg artery and he crawled to another pen where he died with hogs feeding on him. His brother in law found the body at noon. He was about 50, leaving a wife and three children. An inquest will be held. He specialized in rearing fine hogs. Funeral arrangements had not been made at 4 pm.
Dispatches from Constantinople report the Russian ambassador urged the sultan to grant religious reforms in Macedonia and Armenia to preserve peace. The recommendation implies the powers will enforce the demand if concessions are not granted.

A trolley car and an automobile collided in front of Greystone near New York on Sunday. Twenty two trolley passengers were injured, none fatally.
