Post Office Safe Blown At Weston. Robbery Suspects Sought

In Weston the post office safe was destroyed by nitroglycerine in the early hours. About $100 in coins and currency was taken while stamps were left. The thieves pried a back window, left tools and a bar of soap behind, and escaped. Sheriff Taylor believes professionals traveling through the area committed the crime.

Athena Weston Road Completed

The three mile Athena to Weston macadam road finished this week, built as a county experiment with farmer labor and team help. Dane Lavender led the project. the road has three rock layers, high crown, and a record 185 yards laid in one day, signaling a broader county road program.
