John Seaman a bridge carpenter for the C R N lost his life in the Columbia at Rowena while transferring cars to a scow. The car sped toward the river, he jumped to escape, fell in, and despite rescue efforts his body was recovered shortly after.
An accident at the Niagara Falls Power Company plant in Niagara Falls at 4 o clock this morning killed three men outright and seriously injured five others. The victims, all Hungarian workers from Buffalo, were hurled from a overturned backer in the wheel pit and fell 188 feet. Only George Hill is not expected to die. The surrogate court meanwhile awarded Mrs. Burdick control of her husband’s estate, including guardianship of their children.
