Jamestown Exposition Reflections From J H Morris
J H Morris, Northern Pacific freight agent, writes from Jamestown Vermont about the exposition. He praises exhibits on industry, education, and the Panama canal, notes advancing technology and a strong educational display, but criticizes management and concessions and warns readers to budget 3 to 4 dollars per person per day and beware grafters. He reports racial tensions observed in Norfolk Vermont and cites a harsh remark about African Americans, expressing regret over such attitudes.
