The Eighteenth annual session of the Oregon Press Association ended in Salem with a banquet and grand ball. Arthur Conklin of Grants Pass delivered the president's address. Secretary Tozler reported on Oregon press statistics totaling 224 publications. Officers elected include President S L Moorhead, First VP E Hofer, Second VP George M Cornwall, Secretary Albert Toster, Treasurer Francis Gotshall, Historian George H Himes, and Sergeant at Arms Arthur Conklin.
Washington reports that Hristow’s post investigation papers totaling 110000 words and 366 pages were handed to President Roosevelt after being reviewed by General Payne. Five hundred exhibits accompany the material which will be printed into four volumes and released after the exhibit is transmitted to the White House. The deal progressed over several days amid lensing delays and business turnover. John Greene of Bethel Maine is referenced in a related, unclear note. Candidates for alderman in the city council race refuse to commit on the gambling issue. J M Ferguson from ward one offers no policy, while B J Murphy of ward two keeps his views private.
