Cheap Beef Days Are Gone Texas Cattlemen Warn
Colonel Ike T. Pryor, president of the Texas Cattlemen's Association, predicts a lasting rise in beef prices as ranches are divided into farms. He notes Texas cattle numbers shrinking, calves slaughtered for meat at Fort Worth, and a shift of land to farming. Pryor says Texas will still ship cattle later but at higher prices, while farmers raise grain and cattle gradually.
