Synod of Oregon Opens with Endowment Drive
The opening service of the Synod of Oregon was held at the Presbyterian church in Pendleton. Dr. H N Mount presided as retiring moderator. Rev Wm Hudson Bleakney was elected moderator. The synod heard plans for Albany College to raise a 200000 endowment and pledged 2500 for next year’s expenses. Dr. Crooks of Albany outlined a proposed eastern trip to secure the endowment. Mr. Crooks heads east this afternoon, with other pastors and professors addressing education and ministry efforts.
