Lincoln Neb Oct 11 Three masked robbers held up the west bound Burlington passenger train five miles from the city. They dynamited the safe in the express car, stole unknown contents, and escaped. The express messenger hid $15,000 under the stove. Burlington offers a $1,000 reward. A posse pursues the bandits as the train stopped and passengers were terrorized. Other items note a planned posthumous revenge by a sultan and civic greetings in Portland and WashingtonPa.

In Lexington, Kentucky this morning A B Chinn and his son Asa, part of a leading local family, were attacked in their home by burglars. The father died from his wounds and the son was fatally shot. Authorities are investigating the assault and motive remains unclear.
A terrific storm sweeps the Atlantic coast with a gale at Hatteras reaching 40 miles an hour. Fears arise for smaller craft as the weather worsens along the coast.
Oberlin Ohio October 11 The American Board of Foreign Missions Congregational Church will hold its annual meeting here next week with plans for reception and entertainment. Oberlin's long support for missionary work is noted as preparations accommodate about one thousand visitors. Hon Samuel S Cahen of Boston will preside and Dr Newell Dwight Hillis of Brooklyn will deliver the annual sermon.
A rear end collision on the Big Four railway in Terre Haute Indiana last night left three men dead and six injured. Conductor Mathew Hennessey and an unknown man were killed. Anton Haskens a poultry dealer was identified among the dead. Fred Fagin’s body was recovered. brakeman John Pardee is gravely ill.
George S. Meeth son of a Chicago foundry man killed himself by leaping from a seventh story fire escape at the Arlington hotel in Seattle Washington on October 11. He was instantly killed with fatal skull fracture and multiple bone breakage.
Noted Manx author Hall Caine is among prominent passengers sailing for the United States. He will visit America for the second time primarily to see Viola Allen in The Eternal City, and may give public readings in major cities.
