Chicago defeated Detroit 2 to 1 in a tight game. Detroit managed its sole run in the sixth inning, with Chicago securing the win through steady pitching and timely hits.
In Chicago on October 10 Detroit faces Chicago in the World Series. After a rocky first inning Chicago leads 6 to 0, adding another run to make it 7 to 0 by the second. Steinfeldt hits a two base shot, Evers drives two base hits, and Kling scores with a mix of strong defense and aggressive baserunning. Copenhagen Oct 10 The Fridecroff a vessel used by Walter Wellman for his polar expedition was wrecked near Seydité and all but one of the crew drowned. The vessel was homeward bound.

Olympia Oct 10 The supreme court grants a new trial to Joséphine Baruth who was sentenced in Spokane County to ten years imprisonment and a 100 pound fine for killing her husband at Medical hike.
Fresno on October 10 reports RB W Rollins fatally shot D J Ellis after a long running feud. Rollins surrendered to authorities following the incident at Lacrac.
Vancouver shingle mills on the coast will shut down at the start of next month and remain closed until January 1 due to business depression.
