Fire at New Grand hotel disrupts downtown calm
Early this morning a fire broke out on the top story of the New Grand hotel at Court and Jooncoon streets. Firemen arrived quickly but the stairway obstruction by evacuees delayed suppression. Damages run to about five thousand dollars with insurance covering the loss. the blaze started from suspected wiring and spread through walls and ceilings.
