Remarkable one-legged farmer runs 90 acre Michigan farm

In Farm and Fireside an account tells of Myron L. Briggs who lost both legs in a Grand Rapids street car crash about fourteen months in hospital. Eight years ago he bought a rundown farm in southern Michigan, now paying for itself. He and his wife are practical, hardworking farmers who hire little help, cut wheat alone, harvest up to forty acres more, and raise a high producing herd. He built a new modern house, hauled materials himself, and works as carpenter and machinist in spirit though never in shops. He climbs, feeds, milks, and cares for his cows, proving farming pays and he enjoys it.
