Ora W Knight shot himself after Mamie Lee Thorp refused to continue their engagement unless he quit drinking. Knight, a well known local, died within an hour. He had rented a room in the Monterastelli block on East Court Street where Thorp owned a home. The coroner’s inquest labeled death as self-inflicted. The funeral is set for tomorrow at 2 PM at the Episcopal Church, with the Muooxe lodge handling grave ceremonies. Parents Mr and Mrs John Knight of 1100 East Court Street are heartbroken.
