James Boys in Missouri at Fraser draws mixed crowd
Fraser's last night presented the James Boys in Missouri to an average, not crowded audience. The play drew mixed verdicts with some decent specialties by Lige and Eillen, but the cast overall rated second class. Critics questioned its propriety and noted a hint of rowdyism and questionable content on the American stage. A separate note reports William Spivey of Walton Furnace Vermont healing a severe fever sore with Bucklen's Arnica Salve after a 12 mile trip. The remedy is advertised as curing bruises ulcers eruptions boils burns corns and piles for six cents.
