Georgetown Ky November 19 court convened in the Powers trial and Powers seeks an even break on the jury complexion. It may be necessary to move to Fayette county to obtain a jury as Sheriff Harrison of Scott county faces accusation of discrimination against Powers in the veniremen election.
James I. Murray of Spanway, near Tacoma, after months of search, unearthed $2000 in gold buried in his potato patch. He had hired men to scrape the ground but distrusted them and recovered the deposit yesterday from a hole four inches from the scrape site. He will not deposit it in a bank or invest in Panama bonds.
Two passenger trains collided on the Vandalia line near Mattoon in dense fog. An engineer, Joseph McClellan, was killed. One express messenger and one mail clerk were injured along with a passenger. Both engines and the combination car were destroyed by fire.
Ralph Flannigan 21 cashier at First National bank of Pleasantville died by a self inflicted gunshot in Des Moines Iowa. Police report states the bank is believed to be safe and undisturbed after the incident.
Telluride Colorado November 19 a dice game dispute ends with the death of miner David Lambert. Deputy Meldrum a famed gun man is jailed and miner Thomas Sullivan is not expected to live Curtain is the man Lambert shot then Curtain shoots Lambert. Meldrum says he acted in self defense in arresting Lambert.

Idaho business leaders from southern clubs gather in Boise for the league convention. They will discuss improving telegraph and telephone links between Idaho and outside points and extending rural telephone service in southern Idaho.
Taft and party departed Vladivostok for St Petersburg aboard the Trans Siberian railway in a specially equipped private car. He is to be received by the czar on December 3.
The Gardena broom factory under E. J. Thurber, formerly Lewiston manager, is producing a fine variety of brooms. Four workers now make about 120 brooms daily, with plans to boost output when new machinery arrives from the east. About 16 tons of broom carts were raised near Gardena this year.

Floyd Huffy is charged in the first prosecution under the new state law against selling liquor to Indians. District Attorney Phelps filed the indictment this afternoon.
