Calgary, Nov 18. William F. Gardner, formerly of Portland Oregon, was shot twice and seriously wounded Sunday night by his wife during a family quarrel. Gardner and his wife are in separate hospitals. she suffers shock and bruises. Gardner, a former liquor retailer, came home drunk Saturday and a fight followed. Mrs Gardner seized a revolver and fired three times, two bullets hitting Gardner. She stated I was afraid he would kill me so I shot him. They moved to Calgary two months ago from Portland. A charge of attempted murder will be filed against her.
In Marysville California on November 18 a freight struck a street car, sending it from a 30 foot trestle. Two men, William Carpenter and Lewis Stone, were fatally injured while Conductor Biggs and Motorman Showers escaped with injuries as fog shrouded the scene.
Arturo Giovanni testified at the resumed trial of the alleged Anna Lippizzi slayer. He said he reached Lawrence to work on the strike five hours after the dynamite was found and that he did not know about the dynamite.
Kingston Tenn Nov 18 vault of the Kingston Bank and Trust Company was dynamited and 1500 dollars in cash stolen. Sheriff TDPD Taylor investigated, with details noting a morning train movement to Mi ten.
In Indianapolis on November 19, Joseph Bringham a Los Angeles car conductor testified he found an infernal machine beneath the home of F J Zehandelaar secretary of the Merchants Manufacturing association. The device exploded after he moved it fifty yards breaking nearby windows.
