Nov 17 Baker City police report Joe Powers a Baker Cafe night waiter robbed the cash register Saturday night taking 40 dollars more later. He fled to parts unknown but was not arrested at the time. The cash total appeared to be around 450 dollars prior to additional theft.
Douglas Forsythe, named in the Arlington lodging house report, attempted to cut his throat with a pocketknife yesterday afternoon after heavy drinking. Lodgers subdued him before he could seriously harm himself. he was placed under a physician and is recovering without immediate danger.
