Chicago November 16 The grievance committee of the Chicago Bar Association heard charges against States Attorney Wayman brought by Attorney Erbstein. Brady counsels Erbstein to drop them, but Wayman refused, demanding vindication. Erbstein said key witnesses fear retaliation. He also charged that Wayman bribed a jury years ago. Erbstein was recently indicted on the same charge.
Hartford. A Connecticut supreme court decision frees Mrs. Lucinda M. Cudhman Treat Goodard, 72, from conservatorship and grants her the right to live as wife to Charles M. Goddard, a 21 year old Yale law student who wed her two years ago. Her son had argued she was mentally incapable and noted her youthful dress and use of cosmetics.

Helena Nov 16 A Democrat will succeed Senator Carter in the U S senate. The canvass shows Democrats gain one seat in the Senate and one in the House giving 64 votes on joint ballot to elect a senator. Former Senator Clark may reconsider if possible. T J Walsh and W G Conrad named as options.
