Speakers praised the festival’s success noting Pendleton’s show earned wide recognition and stressing community support for the institution. Roy Raley lauded the Round-up as the world’s greatest municipal festival and urged directors to stay closely connected with local citizens.
At the stockholders meeting the entire 1913 Round-up board was re elected as the 1914 board led by T D Taylor with Roy Altner and Charles Marsh among officers. A September third week date was favored for the show and the financial report shows a solid foundation with a $9200.22 cash balance after paying expenses and debts.

Portland November 12 investigation into draw poker among the Portland police has revealed a sweeping scandal likely to end the careers of several officers. Testimony accuses ex-Acting Chief Slover of sending men to live with disreputable women and of supplying money for liquor and drugs. Gambling involved one captain and six sergeants with large wagers. one officer lost $100. A high apartment was the gambling scene with a ring to shield criminals from a former administration. In Portland Oregon on November 12 the industrial welfare commission suspended for six months the rule banning women from working after eight o'clock in mercantile establishments. The change allows the employment of women until eight o'clock in Portland mercantile businesses for the period.
Washington officials say no confirmation of a report that France advised the state department that Wo FL Mc Combs would not be acceptable as ambassador. Administration officials discount the report and note no official word has been received.
