New York reports a historic copper shift as the United States exports to Japan. The United States Selling Company has contracts to deliver 10,000,000 pounds of copper and has begun shipments. War disrupts Japanese output, increasing American exports to China and now filling a void in Asia.

In Chicago four men died in separate accidents, including a broker at Wright, Nash & Co and a jewelry engraver at Columbus Memorial building. Two others perished from asphyxiation in a hotel incident near Brandon, Manitoba, while a bridge collapse near Western Indiana tracks left one iron worker dead and another injured. In Manila, Major General Cortin arrived with Roosevelt’s election noted as halting the independence push. Pendleton gains A D T delivery of special letters via Western Union offices, expanding rapidly.
The Clerks' Union decided to close stores from noon on Thanksgiving afternoon. Most clerks will stay home for the holiday with few other plans. Chauncey M. Depew, 72, averaged 360 miles and four speeches daily during the campaign, the report notes.

An explosion of gesoline at the Poleen automobile station in Buffalo W C this morning seriously injures four men and starts a fire that destroys 17 automobiles. Several chauffeurs and owners narrowly escaped with their lives three were burned and one was stunned by the blast.
