Fossil Hunts Across Nebraska Giants in the Bone Bed
The Morris geological expedition reports rich fossil finds at Agate in Sioux County Nebraska. A Carnegie Museum party and University team quarried and blasted rock to expose bone layers, recovering giant hogs rhinoceroses chalicotherium and other remains. Bones were prepared for public display in the state museum. An August trip explored Wyoming’s Rawhide buttes famed for Indian flint workshops and tepee rings.
