Manitowoc Wis Nov 7 John Ruddantz fisherman survived starvation after his boat failed and nets drifted, then was hauled into court and fined 50 dollars for illegal net planting. The motor boat broke down leaving gear adrift for hours on the lake.
In Seattle a conference with 75 business leaders and city and federal Health board representatives appointed a ten member waterfront interests committee to assist health officers in the anti rat war.
In Havana on November 7 General Felix Diaz faced an attack on the Malecon promenade. Diaz was stabbed and fired upon. Diaz and followers defended with a rolled umbrella and park benches as police halted the fighting. Three Mexicans were arrested, one shot in the leg, others escaped.
Pittsburgh news transcribes Senator Cummins of Town stating the United States should not intervene in Mexico as a European power, valuing peace without outside force. He argues Mexicans must settle their own disputes in a fair fight and supports embargo on munitions of war to aid sober judgment.
