Freight rate readjustment dispute fuels Baker City claims
Baker City residents claim freight rate discrimination favored Pendleton as the Oregon Short Line and O and N lines rework tariffs. W. C. Coman, assistant general freight agent, told the Baker City Herald he would study the charges and pursue adjustments if needed. He noted current rates may be aligned with broader tariffs and suggested small local discriminations could be corrected without changing overall policy.
