New York May 381 Cornelius Vanderbilt millionaire planned to sail for Europe today but Lieutenant Cornelius Vanderbilt of the Twelfth Regiment chose duty over pleasure. He led his regiment on a week long camp tour with three days of drills at the permanent camp on the Roa Hook plateau and three days marching to Lake Mohegan and back.

Big Malting Plant to Cost 200000 at Turner Siding

Dayton May 3 A new six story malt plant near Turner Siding will cost about 200000 funded by local and out of town investors. Located in the heart of the Northwest barley belt Columbia county produces about 1500000 bushels annually. The process includes soaking malt drying and conditioning barley for export with plans to supply Milwaukee Denver and the Orient. This is the first such Northwest venture.
