Goodwater Missouri resident Mrs Riley Laramore recounts long battle with dyspepsia and heartburn. After nightly small doses of Thedford’s Black Draught the distress disappeared in days and has not returned. She endorses the remedy saying it cleanses the system aids digestion and regulates the bowels with no bad after effects. Price 25 cents.
A statewide movement to destroy water hyacinth has begun in Louisiana. The plant threatens inland rivers and lakes, clogging navigation and drainage, and previously abundant beds of aquatic life. Also includes outdated medical advertorials urging Doan’s Kidney Pills for kidney distress with testimonial from Pendleton, Oregon, and an ad for Dean’s Kidney Pills from Foster Milburn Co.
The Portland North market shows weaker cattle and hog trading with 15 loads depressing prices. Cattle mix features grain fed and grass stock with prices $6.60 to $6.60 for best steers, hogs around $6.40 in Portland. Wheat remains quiet though firm, with a notable 43,000 bushel blue stem sale at Walla Walla via Farmers' Grain agency.
