Lumber case retrial eyed before Interstate Commerce Commission

Indications point to a retrial before the Interstate Commerce Commission of the North Pacific Coast cases. The dispute arose from a roughly 10 cent per hundred pound lumber rate increase by transcontinental railroads. The commission blocked rates west of a line from Pembina to Galveston and allowed a 6 cent increase east of it. The two year limit expires October 15, and roads plan to file new maximum lumber increases with higher operating costs cited. Lumber interests in the Pacific Northwest vow to contest any rise.
