Fruit prospects in the Inland Empire misnamed in Hood River notes
The Hood River News Letter reports fruit prospects in the Inland Empire valley as generally good with pears especially Bartietta and cherries forecast for large crops. Apples look to be very large though early predictions are uncertain. Some plums and prunes are normal while Italians are light. Strawberries were damaged by frost, grain and hay slow, weeds increasing, and potatoes and vegetables fair. Roses delayed for festival weather. A gas producer installation will take about 30 days.
