Robert E. Damon of Mt. Vernon Grant county died at home after several weeks illness. Funeral held Tuesday at 1 pm by Rev J M Johnson with burial in Canyon City cemetery. A pioneer of the Pacific coast Damon came to California in 1854 and Grant county in 1865 bringing cattle. He settled Mt Vernon in 1870 and married Anna Stedman, fathering seven children.
