Murder at Gurdane Ends in Death of Clarence McBroom

Clarence McBroom, hotel keeper of the Golden Rule, was shot by George Horseman near Gurdane. Sheriff Taylor hurried toward Pilot Rock to intercept the suspected killer as a posse left to recover the body and pursue the suspect. The quarrel stemmed from a prior fence dispute, with McBroom previously stabbed by Horseman in a longstanding feud.

Palouse Pioneer Warren Averill Dies Sudden

Yesterday in Palouse Washington the body of Warren Averill a Palouse pioneer who led an expedition near Freese Idaho was viewed at the Palouse cemetery.
