Morse Freed From Penitentiary for Going Blind
Zibe Morse, sent from this county to Salen penitentiary, has been released after Governor Geer commuted his sentence on a prison physician’s recommendation. Morse, jailed March 7, 1890 for horse stealing, was to be treated for failing eyesight and may not have returned home. Foley’s Kidney Cure advertised by Pioneer Drug Store.

Pendletonian Dies at Dixon in Fatal Freight-Handling Accident
Robert Mitchell an Odd Fellow from Pendleton died in Dixon Illinois after a heavy box weighing over 1000 pounds fell on him while moving it between cars at the Union Central Railway freight house. He had recently worked at the Dixon depot and previously lived in Lanark Oregon, Butte Montana, and Nelson township. Relatives are sought by John Hailey Jr, Eureka Odd Fellows secretary, with a note that Mitchell claimed descent from Senator Mitchell of Washington.
