New York May 0 Full admission of charges that President Baackes of the American Steel and Wire company caused damaging evidence against the Trust to be burned as the Steel probe began was made by George Cragin of Worchester Mass resistant sales manager for the wire trust. Cragin re examined contradicted prior testimony and admitted Harry Whitney’s charge that Ranckes ordered destruction. Cragin said he received all evidence against Wire pool participants after Judge Archbald fined them in Worcester. He said Ranckes went to Worcester to check if the evidence had been destroyed and documents were burned soon after. Cragin denied Farrell of United States Steel knew about the Wire pool and said he burned the incriminating papers believing they would never be needed.
