Idaho Wool Clip Will Be Short This Year
Idaho reports a shorter wool clip for Minho due to fewer sheep in the state’s ranges. Idaho Wool Growers leaders at Salt Lake foresee smaller overall production but anticipate higher western prices. Prices are down globally, with wool dealers buying Western wool at low rates. The lamb crop was good despite a harsh storm, and the clip is expected to yield better grades and heavier individual yields per sheep, totaling an estimated 17,000,000 pounds clipped and a value between 2.226 and 2.50 million dollars.
