Registration Clerk Keeps Books Open Evenings
Kennedy will keep the registration books open in the evenings to let those with daytime time register. About 2750 names are on the books now and many will be shut out at the next election and the November presidential vote if they cannot register. In 1912 there were 4525 registrants and about 600 voted by swear-in to preserve franchise. Kennedy plans to register anyone with time to go to the office, without strict evening hours for now.
