In Washington May 2 Senator Newlands of Nevada introduced a resolution calling the Ways and Means and Finance committees to jointly study plans for federal aid to rebuild Frisco. A national commission would report on guaranteeing bonds or creating a large financial body to finance the project. Newlands backs up to $100000000 bond guarantees arguing the government can spend similarly on other ventures. Governor Pardee telegraphs California's delegation urging help in land, war, and Indian claims totaling around 15 1/2 million dollars.
