Union County Democrats Name Ticket At Astoria Convention

The Union County Democratic convention in Astoria Oregon selected A. C. Craig as permanent chair and O. By Vanhousen as secretary with J. Attempted murder near city on sixty dollar dispute

Adolf Cortes, a merchant dining saloon worker, walked with Hughes and then tried to cut Hughes throat with a weapon on a brush log outside the city. Hughes escaped to a hospital in doubtful condition. Cortes is in custody. sixty dollars was found on the victim.
