Munificent court order reclaims waste water for spring irrigation
Judge Ellis authorizes using idle waste water from the Little Walla Walla river for winter and spring irrigation in the Hudson Bay district. W J Shaw of Free Water says the plan could reclaim three to four sections and yield about $100,000 in extra crops annually. He notes water runs to waste, and the arrangement would benefit settlers on idle land by soaking ground during winter and spring to support alfalfa and other crops.
