American cardinal unlikely as papal consistory speculates
Washington March 27. Reports from Rome suggest the consistory will mainly preconize bishops, with no American prelate likely to receive the rank of prince of the church. If a non Italian is created, Germany is favored. Prince Max of Saxony is eyed as a potential candidate. Captain C. F. Shoemaker, chief of the revenue cutter service, retired today at age limit. Captain Worth G. Noor to succeed.
