Miners Entombed After West Virginia Mine Explosion

Welsh West Virginia March 26 Eighty three miners are buried in the Jed mine of United States Coal and Coke after an explosion. Eighty six were at work. three escaped. Rescue parties organized. United States mine bureau rush aid with oxygen helmets. Red mine works operate on day and night shifts. heavy smoke and fumes seen but not a fire. Output goes to United States Steel. Two rescue cars ordered to assist. Nearly all victims are marked men. The disaster occurred shortly after dawn and time is critical for survivors.

Interstate Commerce Commission Keeps Lemon Rate Flat
