Ewes Sell High as Grass Fails in Morrow County
In Morrow County ewes sold at 86.50 per Mead-Sheep in fine condition while grass growth lagged. James Flood, a farm hand, died after a fall at a ranch ten miles north of Lexington. The county court discussed a new bookkeeping system and residents learned of local court cases including a Seattle pipe contract suit. A poem by Will Carleton highlighted a county poorhouse tragedy, with a Newark-like tale of a mother and her children reuniting in Oregon. The issue also notes a medical ad for Man Zan piles remedy.
