Walkout in Britain Awaits Negotiations
LNDON March 22 A miners strike planned for today to trigger a sympathy walkout by railway and transport workers causing paralysis of British industry is indefinitely postponed while representatives negotiate with the government. Ed Lidke returns to Pendleton after honorable discharge from military service ending his status as a naturalized U.S. citizen. He served in Camp Lewis and the 91st division before transfer to the 13th division. He says the happiest day was the day he received his discharge and became a U.S. citizen ready to rejoin fellow soldiers.
