Rescued After Four Days Buried in Sand
Mojave California March 16 John Marconti a miner on the Toa Angeles aqueduct was buried alive for four days when a timber in a tunnel north of Pinto 10 miles collapsed on Monday last week. A bank of sand thirty feet high trapped him. a pipe was driven through the sand to admit air. For four days and nights workers labored as the sand ran like water and Marconti was rescued Friday morning.
