Pendleton Cleans City With Hundred Fifty Loads Of Garbage
Street Commissioner John Glasscock reports one hundred fifty wagonloads of garbage plus many tons burned in the streets after two cleaning days in Pendleton. Five city teams have worked to remove non combustible waste from residence districts and may continue Monday night if any area remains. The effort, costing between 50 and 60 dollars, has the city council pleased as fires traced the vigorous cleanup. The board may also remove the old high school fence and enclose grounds with a chain cable if funds permit.
