New York report details the arrest of an American woman from a prominent family linked to a ring of female spies. Authorities say she furnished Germany with information and was connected to German agents in India, Portugal, and canals, with trips to Boston meeting a contact warned by authorities.

E J Wilbur a pioneer sawmill man and longtime Cent Le county resident died while blasting stumps at upper McKay Creek. The blast tore his body, and the body was taken to McKay post office. Coroner and inquest held. Wilbur had gone to show stumps alone while two workers nearby. Survived by his wife Mrs Eva Wilbur of Meacham and Portland relatives. funeral arrangements pending.
