The military funeral for Clair Myers of Pendleton who died of pneumonia while serving in the navy medical corps at Fore Rumell Wyoming will be held today at 4 p.m. at the Baptist church with Rev. W. H. Cin officiating. The body will be escorted from the Myers home by naval service members from Pendleton and Stanfield in Pendleton BW, Alagmin, Athena, and T. 9. Ruel of Stanfield.

Paris March 10 A former German commander in Turkey Lyman Von Sanders was arrested while traveling from Paris to Berlin. He was sent to Malta and will be returned to Constantinople for trial with several Turkish officers on charges of war crimes violations.
A modern news stand is being erected in the corridor of the W. F. & N. passenger depot. It will handle newspapers magazines candy cigars and stationery and also check parcels and baggage. The stand will be completed in about ten days. Two Pendleton women will be in charge with supervision by Mc Gray. Women have been employed by the company and will continue. The company operates Mantle from Seattle to Salt Lake and has just completed one at La Grande and will install others after Pendleton.
The funeral of Mrs. Hattie Whitaker, a Pendleton pioneer, was held Saturday at the Baptist church with Rev. W. H. Cox officiating. Born in Michigan on October 3, 1846, she moved to Pendleton in 1889, joined the Baptist church seven years later, and later lived on a ranch in Cambridge, Idaho. She is survived by sisters and siblings in Michigan, Washington, Idaho, and Oregon, including Mrs. Laurd Hand of McMinnville and Dr. E. Dutton of Caldwell, with others in Michigan and Washington listed as survivors.
Sergeant Frank Cornfield, a Pendleton figure, arrives at Camp Lewis with 16 headquarters staff members from the Pleth engineers unit. They traveled from Camp Da after serving in France as part of a replacement group within the 41st division. The detachment heads home after discharge.
