Prairie dogs targeted in government anti pest drive
Washington reports the Biological Survey is using carbon bisulphide with poisoned grain to exterminate prairie dogs on ranges of the Coronating National forest in Arizona. The pest destroys grazing, harms stock and can cause severe injuries to horses. The program claims restored grazing land on Colorado forests and a substantial gain in carrying capacity, enabling thousands of cattle and sheep to be supported.
