World of Fashion Under Sleeves and Taffeta Coats
New York fashion notes describe oversized undertones in summer styling. Batiste gowns with lace appliques, shirt waist suits in madras lawn and pique, and extensive tucks dominate. Undersleeves widen, long coats of taffeta or pongee appear, and glamorous hosiery and voile gowns shape the season. Fads include Mexican drawn work on waists and Alice Roosevelt inspired accessories.
