The Columbia Bridge Building Company of Walla Walla, represented by A. B. Eberhart, won bids for two steel bridges in Oil County. The LittIe Cold Springs canyon bridge at Kendall crossing costs about 1184 and the Wild Horse bridge at Havana about 950 plus 10.50 per cubic yard for concrete. Hundreds witnessed a bold robbery in the Malin waiting room of Portland's union depot. F A Seufert of The Dalles, a wealthy canneryman, had a blue roll seized from his hip pocket, passed to a partner, and the thief fought Seufert before police captured the money holder.
