A Milton woman Myrtle Kyle is killed in a car shooting after confronting conductor Joe Harper in a deadly dispute. Harper, shot in the abdomen and later in life, is carried to Walla Walla with a grave wound but conscious. Coroner Neufeldt to hold inquest. Kyle had recent divorce and custody of a 12 year old boy.
An inter office message from Milton reports Conductor Joe Harper died at 11.25 from two bullet wounds. Coroner Folsom led an inquest in which the jury ruled Airs. Kyle caused her death by a gunshot wound inflicted by her own hand.
A Milton car tragedy leaves conductor Jon Harper of the Walla Walla line and woman Myrtle Kyle dead after Kyle shoots Harper twice in the back and turns the weapon on herself. Motive unclear amid rumors of prior intimacy. Harper’s wife contacted as he was rushed to hospital. Local witnesses describe Kyle calm before the fatal volley at the Fountain on Main Street, Milton.
Portland, June 14. The city council unanimously adopted the ordinance creating a commission form of government. If approved, commissioners would be elected in April. Introduced by Councilman Baker for Mayor Elect Rushlight, the plan surprised Mayor Simon, who was defeated by Rushlight and also favored the commission.
Washington June 14 The house committee on post offices heard arguments from many interests favorable to the parcels post scheme. Representative Sulzer of New York introduced the bill now under consideration. The parcel post progress league endorsed the measure. It is believed it will not pass this session.
In St Louis on June 14 suits seek a receiver for entities tied to E G Lewis head of the Woman's League and injunction against magazine publishers syndicate. The petitions claim five million dollars in debt with assets of three million. Lewis operates leagues with branches across the United States including Oregon Washington and California.

Riverside, California. Henry Anderson, 19, died after being shot twice by two masked men who robbed friends outside his mother's party gathering. One demanded $40 and shot Anderson when rebuffed. the other robbed others of watches and money as they were escorted to town for medical help. Police and sheriff’s deputies launched a search but made no arrests by midnight.
London reports hotels insure against heavy rain expected on coronation day and following. Policies cover total fees if rain exceeds 1.6 inches in 24 hours, taken out by major hotels to protect revenue during fair weather conditions.
