Northern Pacific passenger train collides with a large automobile carrying five people, killing two instantly and injuring three, including the chauffeur who was hurled but unhurt. The driver is now under arrest as investigators probe the crash and its circumstances.
In North Yakima on June 14 the inquest into the deaths of Miss Hope Davis of this city and Miss Lena Buckmaster of Natchez City will be held this afternoon. Mrs Clarence Brown may recover. Mrs. William Kincaid, wife of the county road supervisor, will recover.
Two women died and two other passengers were seriously hurt when a Northern Pacific passenger car collided with an automobile at the intersection of the railroad track and Db street in North Yakima Washington. The driver L I Strangeway escaped uninjured and was held for a coroner's inquest. The engineer B S Jones was cleared to continue the train.
A mob of about 100 white men forced all Japanese laborers from the United States Lumber company plant in Warrington Wash to leave town. After gathering their belongings, the workers were escorted to the station and boarded a Seattle-bound train. The exodus occurred with little disorder. the mills employed thirty Japanese workers.
St Paul Minnesota June 14 Denying broad public support for conservation as promoted by Pinchot Louie Hill president of the Great Northern says he was not converted to conservation and that his views differ from Pinchots claim He notes he has met citizens and groups formed to push conservation while asserting the people do not want it.
The Supreme Court denied a rehearing in the murder case of Mike Ryan. He was convicted in Ima illa county for killing Edward Dixon more than 18 months ago and was sentenced to seven years in the penitentiary plus a $2,000 fine. He posted $10,000 bail pending appeal, and the high court affirmed the lower court’s decision on May 24. The petition for rehearing was rejected today, and Ryan must surrender to the sheriff in Salem.

Antone Williams son of a wealthy Martinez rancher shot and killed his divorced wife Laura and wounded Philip Foach before Roach fired killing Williams. Roach was arrested and jailed. Williams had been married only months and had threatened to kill her.
