Salem June 14 Frank Ingram the convict who was wounded while resisting a jail break and the murder of Guard Ferrill is alive and recovering. Governor Geer announced he intends to pardon Ingram once he is able to leave the institution unless valid objections arise. Ingram, jailed for life in Linn county for killing his brother, may receive clemency in about a week after public input and further review.
E H Test, Ontari o banker and Democratic state representative, says Malheur county seat fight will be renewed in the next legislature. He notes Ontario's election win signals voter support for Ontario as county seat and vows to press the issue until the majority’s will is honored.
Seattle relatives of a long missing man named Michael Hill contest a Los Angeles hospital find claiming $142,000 in property. Henrietta Hill and siblings HL Wilcox and Henry V. Hill, plus Miss Hill who lives at 2309 Main Street, say the man identified as Charles Hill might be their father. Miss Hill has described him to hospital officials in hopes of confirming identity and reopening a 20 year search.
Spokane dispatch reports Governor McBride’s aide declaring no more passes to annex Cub and urging Eastern Washington to stand. The piece notes Western voters backing railway commission and anti pass laws, with Eastern Washington urged to take a stand as the statewide convention nears. Also included are brief items on Boer surrenders and looming Isthmian canal debates in Congress.
Salt Lake June 14 After July 1 the Oregon Short Line and the O R N will operate all hotels and eating houses along their systems. The privileges have also been acquired from the Pacific Hotel Company which has operated along the Union Pacific for the last 20 years.
Reporters at press time have no word from the posse hunting escaped convicts Tracy and Merrill. The pursuit appears abandoned and the men may have slipped away unseen.
London reports semi official assurances that Mrs Florence Maybrick may gain pardon during coronation amnesty for good record prisoners. New York market report by J L Ray Co and others notes wheat weakness and lower closes at the lows with traders seeing cheap prices though public buying is limited. Prices in New York opened 78 and closed 78 1/2 percent, with various city wheat quotes and several commodity figures across San Francisco Portland and Chicago markets.
London June 14 Colonel Arthur Irish M P accused of high treason arraigned this morning. Treasury proves Lynch was a British subject when taking up arms for the Boers. Accused's attorney says he is willing to admit all to hasten the trial. Detective testified finding on Lynch cards introducing him as Colonel Lynch of the Boer army. Case remanded until next Saturday.
Berlin June 14 Emperor William with a large suite visits Nuremberg to take part in the Germanic Museum semi centennial celebration He will inspect casts of the great altar piece and the founders statues in St Sebaldiun Church slated for presentation to Harvard University
Weston residents report Ezra Duncan and Miss Ida James, who fled Weston recently, were living near Waltsburg Washington until recent days. A man camped near town while a woman ran a laundry and visited, then both vanished. Locals suspect the pair joined elsewhere in the country.
Italian nobleman Carlo Carm Paul claiming Cordova estate was abducted after showing a tithe letter. Three attackers beat him, bound him, and held him in a New Jersey house before threatening death if he did not renounce the Cordova estate. He was later found bound on the Hudson River railroad tracks and is hospitalized in serious condition. Police investigate.
Rear Admiral Coghlan and other distinguished visitors took part in the dedication of a Spanish gun memorial captured at Manila Bay in Highland Park Rochester. A Grand Army parade preceded the event with Mayor Rodenbeck accepting the memorial and addresses by Rev Rob Stoy Converse and others.
The June term of the circuit court will last all next week and perhaps into the following week. Only three cases have been disposed of from the large docket. J M Walker vs First National Bank of Athena and Hugh McLean and J M Walker vs First National Bank of Athena and David Ferris were laid over until next week. Frank and James Roach vs John Muir for rent is occupying the court today. Most remaining cases are minor and will take little time. The case against John Tharp for horse theft will come up next week. Cr F Kennedy is court bailiff.

They praise the fishing and camping spot to recuperate with Heathman landing the largest fish nearly two feet long. Ji m Krause and Charles Ziegler also report trips with good sport and speckled beater catches.
